The Dong’s existing timber, single glazed window frames were rotting and very draughty, reducing the thermal efficiency of their home…
Stephanie and Daniel Dong own a very large home in Ringwood North. The property is stunning, but their existing timber, single glazed window frames were rotting and very draughty, reducing the thermal efficiency of their home.
During winter, cold air from outside constantly seeped into their through their windows, and the Dongs had a similar problem with their front and back doors, both of which had large gaps beneath them which allowed the wind to whistle into the home during winter. This, combined with the large rooms in their home, made their property very cold during winter.
In summer, the Dongs experienced the opposite issue. Their decaying windows and ill-fitting doors failed to create an efficient barrier against the harsh Australian climate and temperatures soared inside their home. As a result, their energy bills were sky high and the Dongs knew they had to do something.
Stephanie and Daniel chose Ecostar Double Glazing to resolve the issues with their home’s thermal efficiency.
- 2 UPVC double glazed casement windows
- 13 UPVC double glazed fixed windows
- 1 UPVC residential front door and a double glazed fixed side screen
- 1 UPVC residential back door
- 1 UPVC double glazed sliding window
The Dongs selected window and door colours that complemented the style of their home from Ecostar’s broad colour palette: Warm Magnolia for the sliding door, fixed windows and back door, Antique Oak for their front door.
The couple was delighted with the difference Ecostar’s windows and doors made to their home.
“We have a large house that had large gas and electricity bills to match,” says Stephanie. “The existing windows lose all the heat we generated in winter, and we are permanently cold. In summer the house got unbearably hot.
“We are so pleased our friends recommended Ecostar to us because now these problems are solved. We would recommend Ecostar to anyone.”
