Case study: The Elephant NOT In The Room
Valery Soares spent time in Germany and was fascinated by the homes there. It wasn’t just the architecture and design features she loved, it was her first experience of double glazing. Having become accustomed to the comfort of uPVC double glazed homes, she decided to replace the windows and doors in her Melbourne home.
“I loved everything about the houses in Germany, they’re so cool. So when I returned and saw an advertisement for Ecostar, I decided to speak to them straight away,” said Valery.
“Initially I was looking at getting just one window done but in the end I decided to get all my windows and doors replaced. I couldn’t be happier with the results.”
While weather was a big factor in motivating Valery to double glaze her Northcote home, the added benefit of noise reduction has meant her home is always tranquil.
“I can walk inside on the hottest of Melbourne days and my home will be just 19 degrees. Equally on cold Winter days, I just put on the heater for an hour and the house is toasty. And it stays that way.
“The biggest change has been noise reduction. I have a weatherboard house and it used to be that when the neighbours walked on their timber floor, it sounded like a heard of elephants in my house! Now I can’t hear a thing. Even if there is music blaring next door, it’s dead silent in my place.”
It’s 6 years since Valery had her windows and doors installed by Ecostar and one of her favourite aspects of the service is the ten-year warranty.
“I’ve recommended Ecostar to my friends and even asked at my work if they can replace their windows with Ecostar double glazing! The quality of the product is outstanding, but if you need any maintenance or anything goes wrong, they come right out. And the warranty is for ten years, so I have four more years of that service. From start to finish it’s been a great experience. Everything about the company is amazing.
